It all began once the families met and we decided we want to tie the knot of marriage. Dec 10, 2020 marked the beginning of what came next.
It was a clean slate then and we started talking what, where and how. Our hunt for the venue is what we began with and finalized it in about 2-3 days. Aslan had 2 of his friend accompany him. There was call center duty that we both took up before our feet touched the ground for the field work though.
We worked on the numbers and also listed the next activities. In parallel looked for accommodation for our relatives who would travel several oceans and would shower their blessing on our D-Day. We then had a good 30 days break due to the month of margazhi which is not considered as auspicious to do any work related to marriage events.
We kept meeting with friends, one was with our BT boss - Veera (the tiger!). I lived the 2.5 yrs again as I narrated my journey of having loved Aslan and how I feel now. We had good dinner time with BMR and Dexter who joined along.
I met Aslan on new year eve this year too as I have past 2 years. Thanks to him that he made it happen. Families exchanged wishes over call and we were all excited and eagerly awaiting Thai to be born (Pongal).
It was now then on 25th Jan (date given by couple of well-wishers) that we shopped for marriage as the costumes were pretty simple and selection was easy. It was just the beginning of several other shopping drives. Kanchipuram, Sowcarpet, Phoenix, T-Nagar, Pondy Bazaar - Phew. What an experience!
Aslan and I found time to have the invites done, Aslan and family travelled to Thanjavur and in about a week the invitations were given to all of their relatives. Whatsapp invites were running in parallel took us into the call center mode again.
Family shopping was another fun time. Got to spend time with Himani, Kuttyma, MIL and FIL. SIL is a much easy going person and has been supportive through out this prep-journey.
Finally, comrades met and we had good time. Yes Karthiga (prod) was missing even this time. Preps at Gayu Aks house was another ball game altogether. Jewelry matching, bride relatives dress code, Make-up purchase and trials for hair-do - OMG OMG! Hats-off Gayu aks.
I have to credit mom as she was my only pillar who helped me lose weight - as much as possible within the limited time and tolerated my tantrums time and again. Both our families have been on feet for 3 weeks now and have last 2 weeks for the D-Day. Still there are a few lot many things to-do. I am enjoying it. :)
I couldn't have asked for more God! Thanks!
Love you loads!
